This winter reset has felt quieter this year. Not in a dramatic, retreat-from-the-world way—just softer. I’ve been noticing small shifts in how I move through my days. Nothing groundbreaking. Just a few choices that feel more like me.

Here’s what this winter looks like lately:
- I’m letting my hair breathe. No braids. No add-ons. Just my hair, as is. It feels like freedom; and I love to feel the wind blow through my hair.
- I’m paying closer attention to the balance of giving and receiving. I feel I’m a generous person—but I’m learning to pause when giving starts to drain instead of nourish.
- I’m releasing the need for everything to be “okay.” Sometimes things are unresolved. Sometimes people are uncomfortable. I’m letting that be.
- I’m less focused on making sure everyone else is okay. Not cold. Everyone gets to tend to themselves.
- I’m finding more freedom in my schedule. It holds what needs to get done—and still leaves room to linger, stretch, and sit in the sun.
- I’m going to bed earlier. Or at least trying. WInter makes a strong case for rest.
- I’m moving when the nudge comes. No second-guessing. No waiting for the perfect moment. Just forward, gently.
- I’m still judging people who take their babies outside in the cool air with no hat on. Quietly. Lovingly. But yes.
- I’m enjoying this oddly warm winter. Lots of time on the back porch–my quiet place. Tea in hand. Watching the light change.
- I’m not rushing my journey. I’m disciplined. I’m steady. But there is no finish line I’m late for.
- I’m minding what I let influence me. Protecting my spirit from unnecessary noise—online, on TV, and in real life.

Yoga is still here. Tea is still here. Outside time is still non-negotiable. My mornings aren’t rushed—I’ve been cultivating that softness for years now. I’m just sharing it more openly.
That’s really it. Nothing dramatic. Just a woman living her winter a little more transparently.
